So did you hear about the latest study on cats?

By all accounts, you’d think Americans have a love affair with cats. They are indeed "man’s best friends." According to the newly published American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) U.S. Pet Ownership & Demographics Sourcebook, cats now outnumber dogs at 82 million cats vs. 71 million dogs.

However, the truth about cats is appalling. Cats are the Rodney Dangerfield of pets; They get no respect.

Above is a photo of me waiting for Mommy to serve me my canned food and fresh water for breakfast. I hate having to wait as I usually demand it ASAP!!!

After I am served the soft food, Mommy gives me fresh hard food to snack on the rest of the day. I am on an IAMES Hair Ball Care Chicken Flavored Regime. Don't you totally dig the cute place mat Mommy got me for my dining area in the kitchen?

Above is where Mommy and Daddy eat their food. It is nice enough, sure. But I like eating at the lovely place in the kitchen that Mommy set up for me.

After I eat, I always wash up. Being clean is VERY important to me. Here I am washing up on the trunk in the informal living room at my home.

After eating, I usually take a little nap. Here I am on the formal living room sofa getting all cozy for a peaceful nap.

Loving Life Each Day!

So my world is pretty great. I have a loving mommy and daddy that take good care of me everyday. It is fun to watch the cars and trucks drive by the living room window, or the birds and squirrels playing in the yard. It is cold and snowy outside now so I am glad to be safe and warm inside my beautiful home. This photo was taken by Mommy in the dining room for Valentine's Day. Stunningly handsome aren't I?

The dining room is one of my favorite rooms in my home. This photo shows the colorful bird collection along one of the walls.

This statue is in the corner of the dining room and belongs to my Daddy. He inherited it from his Mommy's antique store. Daddy also made the table that the statue stands on.

This view in the dining room is taken looking toward the informal living room. It shows a smaller display case hanging on the wall by the doorway that contains more bird figurines.

Bird and flora prints by artist Arthur Singer are on the wall in the dining room next to the two doorways. Mommy got these from her mother. They used to hang in the living room over the piano at the house Mommy grew up in. One of America's finest wildlife painters, Arthur Singer was renowned for his illustrations of birds and animals in their natural habitats. After studying at the Cooper Union School of Art in New York, he worked with the Allies during World War II to conceive camouflage schemes for tanks, which required keen observations of terrain and moving objects when viewed from the air. His bold, fresh style emphasizing color, form, and movement is evident in his many lavishly illustrated books, which are well known to bird watchers.

Above is the display on top of the sideboard in the dining room.

The above photo was taken looking into the dining room from the informal living room. Look how bright and cheery it is! This particular photo was taken around Christmas time so there is different centerpiece on the table.

And, here are the dishes that Mommy and Daddy use for formal dinners and gatherings in the dining room. Simply lovely aren't they? It's Mommy and Daddy's wedding dishes set. They use these with Mommy's grandmother's formal silverware set that she inherited.

The above diagram shows how Mommy sets the table when guests come to eat. Lovely, isn't it?

Today was a great day!

Today started before 8 a.m. when I awoke and Mommy fed me my canned food and fresh water. Then I got a treat. Then I went back to napping -- basking in the sun shining through the dining room window. Glory at it's finest, if I do say so myself. This was followed by a bit of play time with Roger, my pet toy mouse.

Roger and I are shown in the photo above.

And, then Daddy came home and he pet me. It was heavenly! Mommy later groomed me, and gave me dinner. Now I am typing this entry into my blog, which will be followed by lounging in the informal living room watching TV with Mommy and Daddy.

Above you will see a photo of me sleeping on Daddy's lap as he watches TV.

My family is very important to me. I simply love my Mommy and Daddy! They rescued me from some abusive previous owners and since I have come to live with them I have been treated like royalty.
