Another beautiful day!

Today is another warm, sunny, and beautiful day! When Daddy got home from work, he started in on his various woodworking projects he is currently working on.

Above and below you can see Daddy painting the lattice work for the back of the Arbor he is finishing for the backyard.

Another project Daddy has been working on today, is the rocker that he is making for Grandma's front porch. See photo of the rocker below ...

The other day, Grandma gave Mommy and Daddy a cute little scarecrow to use as a fall decoration. Mommy put it in one of plant basket holders in the sunroom/breezeway, as you can see in the two photos below ...

Have a great day! I'm going to get back to reading the book I am currently tackling. It's a book called "Light Years: An Investigation Into the Extraterrestrial Experience of Eduard Meier" written by author Gary Kinder. Larry King Live recently had an interesting show on UFOs and I watched it with Mommy. So, I decided to read a little more about this mysterious subject/phenomenon. Later ... Robert

The gift of wine ...

So, we were delighted to receive a wonderful gift of three California wines from our friends, Jose and Leticia, who live in Yorba Linda, CA, located near Los Angeles. The wines they sent us are from San Antonio Winery in Los Angeles. Mommy took photos of them next to the formal wine glasses Mommy and Daddy got that earlier in North Hollywood from an import store. The glasses are from Italy and are accented in 18k gold. See photos above and below of our lovely wine gift ...

Reconnecting ...

So, Mommy is excited that she has reconnected with one of her favorite cousins. Cousin Carolyn lives in Chicago, is a great person, and has a lovely daughter named Cassondra. Below you will see some great photos Carolyn just sent Mommy that I thought I'd share with you on my blog.

The photo above is Carolyn and the waiter at Dick's Last Resort.

Cassondra and her boyfriend, Brandon.

Carolyn's fur baby, Jac, shown here with Cassondra. Isn't Jac adorable?

I'm off to take a nap in the den ...

Here's hoping your weekend will be the total Cat's Meow! Catch up with ya later! ~ Robert

New Arbor Project in Back Yard ...

So, Daddy has been busy this week installing an Arbor in the back yard. Here are photos of him in action taken by Mommy earlier today ...

In the photos above, Daddy is adding a cover to the top of the Arbor. Later when he is done painting it, he will add a bench to it. It will overlook the raised bed garden in our backyard.

Meanwhile, when Mommy came in from taking photos of Daddy working in the backyard on the Arbor, she caught me on the kitchen table lounging. Yes, I am guilty as charged!

She snapped the above photo proving my guilt when she walked through the door.

When she scolded me I took this more serious pose since I knew I was in trouble. Yes, I had to get down. I hate when I am caught doing something that Mommy and Daddy disapprove of me doing.

Mommy's Birthday!!!

So, today is Mommy's birthday! She was born at 12:38 p.m. on Sept. 7, 1967. She just turned 41. Below are photos of the nice card I got Mommy for her birthday. Inside the card it says, "Happy Birthday from the child that eats cat food."

I waited patiently for the party to begin and the cake to be served as you can see in the photos below of me at the dining room table ...
A fun day was had by all!!! ~ Robert

Vintage kitchen towel ...

So, Mommy dug out a Vintage kitchen towel that used belong to her Grandma Anderson. Isn't it cute? While Mommy says it needs ironing she thinks it looks charming hanging off the stove, as you can see in these two photos.

Happy Labor Day!

So over the Labor Day weekend holiday, Mommy took Daddy to Clear Lake to see where the music died.

Daddy at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake. This is the last place Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper ever performed before their fatal plane crash.

After checking out the Surf Ballroom, Mommy took Daddy to the plane crash site, which is located in a corn field just a few miles outside of the town of Clear Lake.

Daddy posing beside a memorial in the location of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper.
